MikroTik RouterOS The main product of Microtek is a Linux-based operating system. MikroTik turns the hardware into a network router by installing it on the company's proprietary hardware (RouterBOARD) or on standard x86-based computers and implements many additional features; Such as firewall, virtual private network service (VPN) service provider and client, shaping and enhancing the quality of broadband services. It also plays the Access Point feature and other features in wireless networks.
In order to improve the performance of this operating system, you must obtain a license for each feature. The company's application for the Microsoft Windows operating system is called Winbox; Which provides a graphical user interface for configuring the router and monitoring its operation. RouterOS also provides access via FTP, telnet, and SSH. In addition, there is an API for managing and monitoring applications for direct access through applications. To reduce costs, Mikrotik has used various licenses to use the devices.
What is available today are level three, four, five, and six licenses. Whenever you buy a Microtek device, you have a license to use one of three, four, five, or six levels on that device. Each license allows you to manage more users on the network. The highest license level, which is level six, allows you to manage all the features and unlimited users.
